H07V-K single-core copper cable
The H07V-K is a high-quality, standard-duty, single-core electrical cable designed for fixed installations in dry, damp, or moderately wet indoor environments. Featuring a plain annealed copper conductor and PVC insulation, it is one of the most widely used and trusted cables for a vast range of electrical applications in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. Its excellent balance of flexibility, durability, and safety compliance makes it a fundamental component for electrical systems.
Key Features & Benefits
Premium Copper Conductor: Plain annealed copper ensures excellent electrical conductivity, low resistance, and reliable long-term performance.
PVC Insulation: Tough Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulation provides robust protection against abrasion, moisture, and common environmental stresses within its rating.
High Flexibility (Class 5 Conductor): The finely stranded copper wires (K designation) offer superior flexibility compared to rigid solid-core cables, making termination and routing in enclosures and conduit significantly easier.
Flame Retardant: The insulation material is self-extinguishing, contributing to improved fire safety in installations.
Compliance & Safety: Manufactured in accordance with harmonized European standards (HD 21.3 S1 / IEC 60227), ensuring consistent quality and safety across the EU and other adopting markets.

Primary Applications
The H07V-K is intended for fixed wiring installations where significant mechanical stress is not expected. It must be installed within appropriate cable management systems for full protection.
Electrical Switchboards & Control Cabinets: As internal wiring for connections to circuit breakers, contactors, and terminals.
Power & Lighting Circuits: Installation within conduit, trunking, or cable ducting in walls, ceilings, and under floors.
Industrial Machinery: For fixed internal wiring of machines and control panels (when not subject to movement).
Junction Boxes & Connection Points: Reliable wiring for distribution points.
Commercial & Residential Buildings: A standard cable for socket outlets, lighting fixtures, and fixed appliances.
Important Installation Notes
Not for direct burial or outdoor exposure. The H07V-K is not UV-resistant and is not designed for direct contact with soil or prolonged outdoor weather conditions.
Not for flexible use. It is not suitable for applications with continuous movement (e.g., on cable carriers, trailing leads). For flexible applications, consider H05V-K or H07RN-F cables.
Must be installed in protective conduits, trunking, or ducts as per IEC 60364 and national wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671 in the UK).
Always consult local electrical codes and regulations before installation. Sizing must be performed by a qualified electrician based on load current and installation conditions.
